Gord acts for individuals and businesses in all manner of civil and commercial litigation, with particular expertise in insurance coverage disputes. He also acts in contractual and tort disputes, employment law, real estate litigation, defamation, partnership and shareholder disputes, and professional negligence claims. Gord is a seasoned advocate, having represented clients in several multi-week trials and appeared as lead or co-counsel in over 50 reported decisions in Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal. Gord graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 2009 as the Gold Medalist of his class and was the recipient of numerous academic awards and distinctions. After completing his articles Gord was selected as one of two Ontario lawyers to receive the Fox Scholarship, through which he spent a year working alongside barristers in London, England. Gord regularly contributes to legal publications and is a dedicated legal educator. He teaches Insurance Law as an Adjunct Professor at Western University and is a contributing author on the topic of insurance broker’s professional liability for Lexis Practice Advisor Canada. In 2021, Gord was selected as a Lexpert Rising Star.
