Gordon Nettleton is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s Business Law Group and head of our National Energy Regulatory Practice Group. He specializes in energy regulatory, Indigenous, environmental, and business law matters, and has significant experience in the regulation of upstream and midstream oil & gas infrastructure, pipelines, liquefied natural gas projects, and electricity infrastructure, markets and rate regulation. Gordon’s clients have included shippers on major pipelines and applicant pipeline companies seeking facilities and tolling approvals. He also has acted for Canada’s largest transmission and distribution utilities in respect of major rates revenue applications and facility expansion approvals. Gordon appears before the Commission of the Canadian Energy Regulator (formerly the National Energy Board) and provincial regulatory tribunals including the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Ontario Energy Board, the British Columbia Utilities Commission, and the New Brunswick Energy Utilities Board.
