Greg obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975 and Bachelor of Laws in 1978, from the University of Manitoba. He was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1979 and the Alberta Bar in 1995. He was appointed King’s Counsel in 2009. Greg received the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association President's Award in 2017 in recognition of his distinguished contribution to the legal profession, the community and the advancement of the law. Greg has conducted numerous civil trials including precedent-setting cases involving issues such as chronic pain, mitigation, fibromyalgia, psychiatric injuries, brain injuries and standard of care for participants in extreme sports. Greg has presented at conferences and seminars on prosecutorial liability, trial preparation, conduct of chronic pain cases and “beating the cap” under Alberta’s Minor Injury Regulation. Greg was involved in a number of high profile cases, including acting as lead counsel for David Milgaard in connection with his civil claim against the police and prosecutors involved in his wrongful conviction and incarceration, which led to a landmark $10-million compensation award. Greg enjoys running, working out, scuba diving, motorcycling, boating and spending time with his family.
