Pitman Patterson is a partner in BLG’s Toronto office and the National Business Leader for BLG’s Environmental, Municipal, Expropriation, and Regulatory Group. His practice is focused on planning and development law, expropriation law, and general municipal law. Pitman appears frequently at the Ontario Land Tribunal and related bodies in planning and expropriation cases. He also has expertise in complex development and infrastructure agreements, particularly for transit-oriented development. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada and in Chambers Canada, and was named by Best Lawyers in Canada as the 2020 Toronto Lawyer of the Year for Expropriation Law. He obtained his JD from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996.
