James L. Vigmond has been practising personal injury litigation on behalf of plaintiffs for over 40 years. A former president of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) and Simcoe County Law Association, he remains a leading figure in Ontario’s personal injury trial bar. At Oatley Vigmond, Vigmond leads a team specializing in spinal cord, brain injury, and serious orthopedic cases. Recognized among The Best Lawyers in Canada (2006–2025), he is a certified litigation specialist and a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and the American College of Trial Lawyers. Vigmond has published articles and presented on personal injury litigation and trial advocacy for organizations like OTLA, the Canadian Bar Association, and The Advocates’ Society. He has appeared at all levels of Ontario courts and has intervened on OTLA’s behalf in the Court of Appeal. In 2016, he received OTLA’s Distinguished Trial Lawyer Award. Vigmond and his wife Sharon are proud grandparents to Ava, Jack, MacKenzie, and Noah.
