James MacInnis, KC is a respected trial and appellate lawyer, with extensive experience as counsel in the BC Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. He has been a partner at NST since 2006. MacInnis acts for corporations, both private and public, as well as individuals. His practice is focused on commercial and business disputes, including contractual disputes, partnership disputes, oppression claims, professional liability defence, construction disputes, trust and pension claims, and securities matters. MacInnis has contributed numerous articles and chapters to both academic and professional publications dealing with commercial law issues. He is the co-editor and contributing author of Business Disputes in British Columbia. He is the co-author of a civil procedure manual published annually by Thomson Reuters that is used by litigators throughout British Columbia, and a chapter author for the Law of Objections published by LexisNexis. He also contributes as a chapter author for a number of legal texts published by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, including the Civil Trial Handbook and Introducing Evidence At Trial.
