James Howie is a partner at Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP. He practises personal injury litigation, insurance claims, and medical malpractice law. He is a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Ontario. Jim has served as a Director of The Advocates' Society, was a member of council of the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto, and is currently a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) and American Association for Justice. He is past president of the Toronto Lawyers Association and former director of the Brain Injury Association of Toronto. He has chaired and lectured for personal injury programmes sponsored by The Advocates’ Society, OTLA, Canadian Defence Lawyers, The Canadian Institute, Lexpert, Insight, and the Canadian Bar Association. He lectured annually on insurance law at Osgoode Hall for five years.
