Jamie was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1994 and the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2019, and has exclusively practised personal injury and insurance law since 1999. He is an active member of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. Jamie is Lexpert-ranked as Repeatedly Recommended, and has been recognized by his peers as a leading practitioner in the field of Personal Injury litigation. Jamie has an interest in using litigation to help fight industry practices that are destructive to the environment and to provide a check and balance for working people against the increasing power of unaccountable multinational corporations. Jamie leads a team of 19 lawyers and 47 support staff at MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law, which is the largest personal injury law firm in Atlantic Canada. MacGillivray Law has offices in Halifax, St. John’s, Moncton, and New Glasgow and serves clients across Atlantic Canada and beyond. Jamie was born in 1969 in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, where he and his wife, Lisa, live with their three children, Zoe, Maya, and Gage.
