Jennifer Danahy is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office. A Certified Specialist in Environmental Law (LSO), Jennifer’s litigation practice includes the defence of environmental prosecutions at the municipal, provincial and federal levels, handling civil law litigation involving contaminated sites and administrative law proceedings. As a solicitor, she advises lenders, borrowers, vendors and purchasers in relation to the environmental aspects of corporate transactions, assisting clients with the design and implementation of Environmental Management Systems and the conduct of compliance audits. She provides guidance on compliance options and options following the conduct of audits. She helps clients respond to developments in environmental law and provides training on environmental due diligence. In the planning context, Jennifer works on EA (environmental assessment) issues at both the federal and provincial levels. She advises public and private sector clients and acts for municipal councils on EA issues related to infrastructure projects.
