Jerry is an experienced commercial litigator providing representation and advice to business clients involved in or trying to avoid commercial disputes. Jerry has appeared as lead counsel at all levels of Alberta Courts, and has participated in a number of successful dispute resolutions through arbitrations, judicially-assisted and private mediations. Jerry has experience advising major and junior energy companies on a variety of issues, including EPC/construction matters; Farmout, Joint Operating and CO&O Agreement disputes; allegations of misuse of confidential information, and competition law compliance. In addition, Jerry’s practice involves representation of clients in commercial disputes over title to land, the purchase and sale of businesses, and share valuations.
Petroamerica Oil Corp. and Suroco Energy Inc. fended off a hostile bid by Vetra Holding S.a.r.l. and Vetra Acquisition Ltd. and completed a plan of arrangement pursuant to which Petroamerica acquired all the issued and outstanding shares of Suroco for an approximate total value of $108.6 million.
