Jo-Anne Demers

Jo-Anne practises commercial litigation with a focus on defending class actions, securities matters, professional liability, cyber insurance and product liability. She represents a wide range of clients and insurers, including large multinational organisations, securities dealers, lawyers and accountants. She frequently defends the interests of various professionals against claims of negligence. Over her 28-year career, Jo-Anne has regularly appeared before all level of Quebec courts, and has pleaded before the Supreme Court of Canada. She has extensive experience in complex multi-jurisdictional litigation, especially as it relates to both class proceedings and professional liability. Jo-Anne has extensive experience in representing professionals such as brokers and accountants before the Disciplinary Councils and appeal before the Professional Tribunal or judicial review before the Superior Court. Jo-Anne sits on the firm’s Canadian Management Board.
