Jocelyn Perreault

Jocelyn Perreault is a partner at McCarthy Tétrault LLP and a member of its Montreal Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group. His practice consists of advising clients on insolvency matters, and representing them in informal workouts, formal restructurings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act or the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, receiverships, bankruptcies, or commercial or litigation matters involving insolvency questions. He represents various parties in such matters: debtors, lenders, creditors, creditor groups, monitors, trustees, receivers, purchasers, and investors. He has appeared in front of first instance and appellate courts in Quebec and other provinces and of the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as in France as part of a French insolvency proceeding. He has also been involved in special mandates for the World Bank consisting of the review of insolvency and creditors’ rights regimes in foreign jurisdictions. Since 2023, he is the president of the Quebec insolvency division of the Canadian Bar Association. He was a lecturer at the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University from 2002 to 2020 and he is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. Called to the Quebec Bar in 2007.
