Josée Gervais is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office and head of that office’s Labour, Employment & Equalities Group. She advises and acts on behalf of several national and international employers on all aspects of employment and labour law, including in the areas of occupational health and safety, pay equity, human rights, French language in the workplace and labour relations. Josée frequently assist clients in the management of their human resources, such as terminations of employment, disability or performance management, employee monitoring and surveillance, investigation of violence and harassment claims, and collective bargaining negotiations. She also represents provincially and federally regulated employers before civil and administrative courts and tribunals, including the Administrative Labour Tribunal, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the Québec Superior Court and Grievance Arbitrators. She often acts as a spokesperson for public and private sector employers in complex collective bargaining, helping them navigate labour disputes. Josée has authored several employment and labour law publications and is also regularly invited as a speaker. She has been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory,The Best Lawyers™ in Canada, and the Legal 500 Canada.
