Josh Chad is a respected competition, antitrust, and foreign investment lawyer who counsels clients in all areas of competition and antitrust law, including complex merger reviews, cartels and price fixing defence, abuse of dominance, and marketing and advertising. He also counsels clients involved in foreign investment reviews and other regulatory reviews. He has worked on some of the most high-profile mergers in Canada including most recently Bunge’s proposed acquisition of Viterra, Sunwing’s acquisition by WestJet, SK Capital’s acquisition of Apotex, and Paper Excellence’s acquisition of Domtar. He is also involved in matters before the Canadian Competition Tribunal and represents clients in competition class action litigation proceedings. He is an active member of the leadership of the Canadian Bar Association’s competition law section and the American Bar Association’s antitrust law section. Within the CBA, he is vice-chairman of the international committee, and, within the ABA, he is vice-chairman of the mergers and acquisitions committee.
