Kaitlyn is a partner at Howie, Sacks, & Henry LLP specializing in complex personal injury litigation, long-term disability claims, accident benefits claims and other disability and insurance litigation. The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) awarded her the Martin Wunder, Q.C. Outstanding New Lawyer Award in 2021. She is currently the president of the Brain Injury Association in the Peterborough Region and has been on the board for ten years. Kaitlyn is passionate about the rights of survivors of brain injury as she has first-hand experience in acquired brain injury, with her father being diagnosed with one following a serious assault. This understanding motivates Kaitlyn to be an effective advocate for her clients. She regularly attends trials, administrative hearings, and complex motions in both the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and Administrative Tribunals. Kaitlyn is on the Practice Direction Committee of OTLA and frequently volunteers to draft important documents that influence policy and law for accident victims in Ontario. Kaitlyn is also a published author on court practices and the past editor-in-chief for the OTLA Long Term Disability Section newsletter.
