Available across Canada also for expert opinion or teamwork. Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation (LSO) since 1993. Worked as General Counsel (ON) for CN. Rejoined private practice in January 1998, solo from 2009, now serving esp. shortlines, government, municipalities, and shippers. Ken’s work continues especially as to transportation law and dispute resolution in railway regulatory matters; crossings and rights-of-way issues; and injury, commercial, and shipping cases. Expertise in drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of agreements in the rail sector and dealing with rail operators, industry, municipalities, and federal and provincial regulatory and licensing agencies in the transportation field. Has assisted clients to resolve employment disputes or grievances and remedies, and in handling coroners' inquests. Has addressed Indigenous law and consultation issues in relation to both railway and non-railway operations/lands. Has appeared in various arbitration and mediation proceedings and in all levels of the courts—including the SCC, FCA, and Courts of Appeal (ON/SK). Available to assist as problem-solving mediator.
