Kerri Lui

Kerri Lui is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s Business Law Group and Power Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on general corporate transactional matters with an emphasis on projects in the energy and defence sectors. Kerri regularly advises acquirers, joint ventures, investors and developers in the power space through private mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters, procurements and project agreements. Her experience also includes advising both Canadian and international borrowers and financial institutions through secured lending and project finance transactions. Kerri has worked on all types of power generation projects, including wind, solar, energy storage, gas generation, biomass, hydro, nuclear and district energy, as well as transmission projects. Recent examples of her past transactions include acting as lead counsel to NextBridge in connection with the financing of the East-West Tie Transmission Line and as lead counsel to developers in connection with transactions relating to the most recent Ontario IESO capacity procurements. Kerri was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012.
