Kevin’s experience includes advising several Canadian and foreign clients in acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and general commercial negotiations across industry sectors. He is a member of the Montréal office’s Students & Stagiaires Committee, which oversees recruitment for this office.
On August 3, 2018, Navacord Inc. (Navacord), a leading Canadian insurance brokerage, completed a management-led buyout of its minority partner with the support of US private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP), a leading private equity firm based in Chicago.
On January 5, 2018, BCE Inc. (Bell) completed its acquisition of all of the approximately 11.4 million common shares of AlarmForce Industries Inc. (AlarmForce) for a total aggregate consideration of approximately $182 million The Acquisition is part of Bell’s Connected Home strategy.
On July 6, 2017, Logistec Corporation (Logistec), a marine and environmental services provider, completed the acquisition of 51 per cent of all of the issued and outstanding voting shares of Fer-Pal Construction Ltd. (Fer-Pal). The purchase price comprised of a cash payment of $41.5 million and the issuance of 230,747 Class B subordinate voting shares in the share capital of Logistec.
On March 31, 2017, J.C. Flowers & Co. LLC (“J.C. Flowers”) and Värde Partners completed the acquisition of CitiFinancial Canada (now Fairstone Financial Inc. (“Fairstone”)) from an affiliate of Citigroup Inc. (“Citi”).
On May 31, 2016, TELUS Corporation (TELUS) completed a previously-announced transaction whereby Baring Private Equity Asia (Baring Asia) acquired a 35-per cent equity stake in TELUS International (Cda) Inc. (TELUS International).

On February 1, 2016, GFL Environmental Inc. (GFL) completed the acquisition of the Matrec solid waste division from TransForce Inc. (TSX: TFI, OTCQX: TFIFF) for $800 million. The acquisition was funded in part by the private offering of US$300 million in aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due 2021 (the Note Offering) through a syndicate of broker dealers led by Credit Suisse, BMO Capital Markets and Barclays and including Scotiabank, CIBC Capital Markets, Comerica Securities, National Bank of Canada Financial Markets and Raymond James (the Dealers).
An affiliate of Mattamy Homes Ltd. acquired all of the issued and outstanding shares of Monarch Corporation, the Canadian operations of US homebuilder Taylor Morrison Home Corporation, for CAD$335 million at closing, subject to customary post-closing adjustments. Immediately prior to the closing, approximately C$235 million of cash at Monarch was distributed to a subsidiary of TMHC for total proceeds of C$570 million from the share sale. The transaction closed following the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including clearance by the Canadian Competition Bureau.
News Corp., through its subsidiary HarperCollins Publishers, acquired Harlequin Enterprises Limited from Torstar Corporation for $455 million in cash, subject to certain adjustments.
