Laura Gomez is an Ottawa-based Gowling WLG partner who advises on regulatory law, primarily in the area of product regulation, compliance, and enforcement. She assists clients with regulatory and commercial issues relating to the commercialization of foods, supplemented foods, non-prescription, prescription and controlled drugs, natural health products, cosmetics, medical devices, cannabis, consumer products, and chemicals. She has particular experience advising clients with respect to regulatory issues including product licensing, temporary marketing authorizations for foods, advertising, packaging and labelling, formulation and ingredient reviews, drug and medical device establishment licensing, site licensing, recalls, as well as manufacturing and quality agreements. Her practice also includes regulatory compliance and commercial issues that relate to multi-level marketing, direct selling, and consumer protection. She advises and represents clients interacting with Health Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada Environment Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, as well as provincial and territorial regulators.
