Laurent Carrière focuses on trademarks and copyrights (prosecution, litigation, and ADR). He also counsels his clients on IP assets management and publishing, entertainment, and IT/ICT law. He was called to the Quebec bar in 1978 and is also a registered trademark agent. He is editor-in-chief of the ROBIC Canadian Copyright Act Annotated and editor-in-chief of the ROBIC Canadian Trade-Marks Act Annotated, as well as co-author of ROBIC Loi canadienne sur les marques de commerce annotée, all published by Carswell. He also publishes regularly on various IP issues including five booklets in the JurisClasseur – Intellectual property on trademarks. He is a frequent lecturer on the matter. He has also been editor-in-chief of Les Cahiers de propriété intellectuelle since 1997 and has been putting together the annual conference of the Continuing Legal Education Program of the Quebec bar with respect to intellectual property since 1995. He is consistently ranked as a leading IP practitioner in Canada in various peer surveys.
