Lorne Wolfson is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a specialist in family law, by the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO) as an FDRP-Med and FDRP-Arb, and as an accredited family mediator (AccFM) by the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. His practice focuses on spousal and child support; equalization of property; custody and access; separation, marriage, and cohabitation agreements; divorce; and litigation, mediation, and arbitration. He is family law counsel in business and personal financial planning. He has been chairman of the FDRIO; member of the Family Rules Committee and The Advocates’ Society; fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; founding editor of Money & Family Law (Carswell); author of Settling Family Law Cases: Practical Techniques for Advocates and Neutrals (Carswell) and The New Family Law (Random House); and co-author, Family Mediation, Arbitration and Collaboration Law Handbook (Butterworths). He also wrote Child Support Guidelines Workbook for the Department of Justice Canada (1997). He received the 2015 OBA Award for Excellence in Family Law in Memory of James G. McLeod.
