Lorne Segal is a senior partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, practising in the areas of M&A, corporate commercial, lending and corporate finance and bankruptcy, insolvency and corporate restructuring. He represents private and public companies from owner-operated businesses to multinational corporates. Lorne's M&A practice focuses on the mid-market and on both the buy and sell-side. His experience spans various sectors, including tech, defense, media, data centres, aerospace, life sciences & pharma, manufacturing, food & agriculture, telecom, and financial services. Much of his M&A work is for multinational public and private companies on their Canadian deals. In the lending and finance sector, Lorne represents domestic and foreign banks, insurance companies, private equity and venture capitalists in mid-market and larger transactions. In the area of restructuring & insolvency, he represents creditors, debtors, investors, and trustees/receivers. Lorne served a four-year term as Gowling WLG's firm managing partner, internal and served as a member of the firm's Executive Committee as well as on its Board of Trustees.
