Matthew Kraemer is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s National Tax Group in Calgary. His practice focuses on corporate tax planning, domestic and cross-border public reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, tax litigation and business critical tax issues. Matthew is known for his unique, pragmatic approach to corporate tax law and his ability to find creative solutions to complex tax issues. He has a depth of experience in a variety of industries, such as energy and infrastructure, oil and gas, the resources sector, technology, and the real estate sector. Matthew also shares his knowledge through a variety of published articles and speaking engagements. He has been a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law in Tax and International Tax. Matthew is currently the chair of the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Calgary and Area and sits on the board of the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society. Matthew was called to the Alberta Bar in 2008 and the British Columbia Bar in 2009.
