Max Shapiro

Max arbitrates and litigates complex contract, procurement, and construction disputes, with a focus on major projects in the infrastructure, energy, and mining sectors. He has represented clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings in Ontario, Alberta, and Newfoundland & Labrador, and at all levels of courts in Ontario, the Federal Court, the Court of King's Bench for Saskatchewan, before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, and at the Supreme Court of Canada in the voting rights appeal by expatriate Canadian citizens in Frank v. Canada (A.G.). Max also has significant expertise in anti-corruption investigations, insolvency proceedings, and gaming disputes.
