Melinda Vine is a partner within the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Group at Harrison Pensa. Her main areas of focus are insolvency and bankruptcy with an emphasis on collections, receiverships and restructurings as well as construction law. In addition to providing advice to businesses and individuals with respect to pre-bankruptcy and post-bankruptcy asset recovery and/or protection, Vine assists financial institutions with enhancing and enforcing security interests and priority disputes. In her practice, Vine routinely advises secured and unsecured creditors, large debtor corporations, trustees in bankruptcy and receivers, as to their rights, remedies and obligations in respect of commercial insolvencies. Vine has also extensive experience in various commercial disputes, including acting as counsel in commercial litigation matters, contract interpretation and enforcement issues, creditors’ rights and relief cases, debt collection, security enforcement, and banking law issues. Her professional involvement and experience range from providing legal opinions at the early stage of commercial disputes to bringing actions to suit. Vine also provides advice and litigates in the field of construction law and construction liens.
