Michael's practice focuses on mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, private equity investments, and corporate reorganizations. He advises domestic and international clients in a wide range of industries, including food production and distribution, construction, transportation, consumer goods, hospitality, information technology and real estate. Michael often acts for private, family-owned companies on transition planning, including dispositions, minority or majority third-party investments, and reorganizations. Michael has substantial experience with private equity funds, including fund formations and investments. Michael is also frequently retained by foreign companies on establishing and structuring their Canadian operations. Michael’s focus on is leveraging his legal expertise, deal experience and understanding of his client’s businesses and goals to provide practical, results-oriented advice and legal services. Michael is Co-Chair of the firm's Food, Beverage & Agribusiness Group, and regularly acts for food and beverage companies on acquisitions, dispositions and general commercial matters.
