Miranda Spence

Co-Practice Group Leader of the Aird & Berlis Litigation Group and a member of the Financial Services Group. She maintains a broad litigation practice, with an emphasis on general commercial, restructuring and insolvency disputes. She appears regularly before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including the Commercial List and the Bankruptcy Court, and has appeared as counsel at all levels of the Ontario courts. She co-leads a team at the firm that represents large technology companies in civil litigation and regulatory proceedings involving issues concerning privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, defamation and intermediary liability. The team also advises technology companies with navigating Canadian privacy and data production laws as they apply to new and existing products, and developing policies and tailored programs for the evolving Canadian market. Miranda was a recipient of the 2021 Lexpert Rising Stars Awards and is recognized in Lexpert Special Edition – Litigation as a leading Canadian litigator. She is recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada in the field of Insolvency and Financial Restructuring - Insolvency Litigation. She is a member of The Advocates' Society's 10+ Standing Committee and Commercial List Users' Committee, Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
