Neil MacLean’s practice is concentrated on litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and insurance coverage analysis in the areas of construction, home warranty, property insurance, product liability, and professional liability. He has expertise in subrogation of large property losses. In addition to his litigation and coverage practice, Neil draws on his extensive knowledge of many facets of the insurance industry to serve as an advisor to his clients on numerous matters beyond the traditional practice. Neil advises insurers on underwriting issues such as policy wordings and broker contracts. He also assists businesses and organizations on risk management and captive insurance matters, drawing on his background as past chair of the Canadian Captive Insurance Association. Neil is recognized by other legal ranking publications, such as Benchmark Litigation and Best Lawyers, and he is a fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America.
