Pierre Pilote is the managing partner of Gowling WLG's Montreal office. He also serves on the firm's national management committee and is head of its France Initiative. Pierre represents and advises the management of various corporations, particularly in matters related to labour relations, occupational health and safety, collective agreement decrees and individual employment contracts. A skilled negotiator, Pierre acted as chief negotiator for the Quebec government in its negotiations with over 500,000 workers, which resulted in a five-year negotiated agreement. Drawing from his experience as senior adviser to both the President of the Treasury Board of Canada and the federal Minister of Finance, Pierre has developed extensive knowledge of government administrations as a strategic advisor to private-sector companies, and parapublic organizations, as well as serving on multiple boards of directors, bringing extensive governance experience to the table. Pierre regularly speaks on employment and labour issues. He has been regularly recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada since 2015 (Labour and Employment category) and appears in the 2020 The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and was named an Acritas Star in 2017–2020.
