Has over 30 years of experience in domestic and cross-border transactions focusing on the energy, automotive, telecommunication, real property, retail, and information technology industries. Randy advises on goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax, provincial retail sales taxes, value-added taxes, sales and use taxes, land transfer taxes, digital services tax, excise taxes and duties, valuation, tariff classification and international trade agreements. He also represents clients in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial tax authorities. Randy is a Past Chair of the National Commodity Tax, Customs and Trade Section of the Canadian Bar Association, served previously as the section liaison to the Canada Revenue Agency and continues to serve on the Executive Committee. Randy has been recognized as a leading advisor in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, the International Tax Review Indirect Tax Leaders Guide and Chambers and is a member of the invitation-only GST Leaders’ Forum. He is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and CBA. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1991. Randy received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto (1989) and a Bachelor of Business Administration with High Distinction (1986) from the University of Michigan.
