Richard’s areas of practice include technology transactions, privacy and security including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, IT governance and regulatory compliance, licensing, procurement and access to information and Canada’s anti-spam legislation. Before joining DWW, Richard was general counsel of EDS Canada, one of Canada’s largest technology service providers, for 18 years. Richard is a former director and president of the Canadian IT Law Association and was a member of the Executive Education Faculty of the Centre for Outsourcing Research and Education (CORE) for many years. He is a frequent speaker on technology law issues including on artificial intelligence, privacy and security, legal privilege and professionalism, cloud computing, IT governance, and social media. Richard was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985.
