Richard Weiland is a senior partner and Co-Chair of the Estates & Trusts Practice. His practice is focused on tax, trust and estate matters. Richard provides tax, estate and trust advice to private business owners and their families, to trustees and executors, and to charities and non-profit organizations. He also advises clients on tax issues relating to private and public company offerings, real estate financing structures, and corporate and commercial transactions. Richard has a TEP designation from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants' In-depth Tax Course. Richard regularly presents on estates, trusts and tax matters in the media, at professional seminars and private client events. He has taught Taxation of Trusts and Estates at UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law, and has authored and contributed to a number of legal publications, including manuals for lawyers published by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia.
