Robert Hayhoe's practice focuses on providing tax and general counsel advice to Canadian and international charities and non-profit organizations. He has particular experience in cross-border tax rules for Canadian charities. He also provides CRA audit representation to charities and non-profit organizations involved in difficult situations. He is the author of many charity law articles and primary author of Thomson Reuters’ Charities Taxation, Policy and Practice looseleaf service. He presents frequently on Canadian charity law subjects across Canada and internationally. He is a member of the charities law section of the CBA and OBA and of other organizations including the ABA, CTF, and CAGP. He has been recognized by Lexpert as one of Canada's Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 (2006). He holds a LLM (taxation) from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. He was admitted to the Ontario and BC bars. He has been recognized by the Law Society of Ontario as a certified specialist in tax law and by Chambers as Band 1 for Charity Law.
