Rob Gibson co-founded Gibson & Barnes LLP in 2005. Prior to founding the firm, Rob had extensive labour litigation experience as an associate and partner at another Toronto-area labour law firm and as in-house counsel to a major Ontario construction trade union. Rob frequently appears before the Ontario Labour Relations Board and other tribunals to litigate on behalf of his clients. He routinely represents trade unions on applications for certification, grievance referrals, jurisdictional disputes and unfair labour practice complaints. Since the start of his legal career, Rob has been particularly involved with the construction industry and he represents construction unions on a wide range of issues at the OLRB and elsewhere. Rob has a reputation as a skilled and determined advocate who also provides practical strategic advice to his clients. He enjoys the opportunities for creative planning and litigation that are provided by the long-term relationships in the construction industry.
