S. Wayne Morris is counsel to Dutton Brock LLP, having joined the firm following his admission to the Ontario Bar in 1981. He has been certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation since 1990. His practice involves the defence of a broad range of claims including medical negligence, general liability, products, occupiers’ liability, motor vehicle, directors’ and officers’ liability and professional negligence. He advises insurers with respect to complex coverage matters, and represents a number of large self-insured organizations. He has been counsel for the defence in many class actions, including claims relating to medical devices, tainted food, and claims under the Securities Act. He is also a Standing Agent for the Federal Department of Justice, and has defended actions on behalf of various government departments including: Corrections, Immigration, Transport, Revenue, Indigenous Affairs and the RCMP. He sat for many years as an ad hoc Chairman of the Ontario Insurance Advisory Board. He has taken over one hundred trials to verdict, and is recognized by his peers in both Lexpert and The Best Lawyers in Canada.
