Sabri is a founding partner of JSS Barristers. After 35 years of practice in Calgary, primarily as a litigator, Sabri now acts almost exclusively as an arbitrator and mediator. His broad range of experience includes matters relating to construction and engineering projects; natural resource ventures; shareholders, franchise, partnership, and joint venture agreements; insurance claims and coverage (Sabri has made many umpire determinations under the Alberta Insurance Act); commercial lease renewals; employment and labour relations; medical malpractice; and personal injury. In addition to an LLB, Sabri has an LLM in dispute resolution and a degree in engineering. He was appointed Queen’s (now King’s) Counsel in 2012. He became a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2014 and now sits on the board of the Canada Branch and is chair of the Alberta Chapter. He is also a member of the Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society and a variety of other arbitration and mediation organizations.
