Samantha Gordon

Samantha Gordon is a partner in McMillan’s litigation and dispute resolution group with a focus on complex class actions and corporate/commercial disputes. She has appeared at all levels of Ontario and federal courts including the Supreme Court of Canada. She acts on domestic and international class action defence matters, including cartel and antitrust, securities, consumer protection, misleading advertising, and product liability. She has experience in competition class actions, acting on cases involving finance (foreign exchange, SSA bonds), electronic components (DRAM, ODD), digital display advertising, generic drugs, various auto parts, caustic soda, salmon, fragrances, and brokerage commissions. She has acted for companies in the technology, chemicals, cannabis, retail, food/beverage, and mining industries on matters including contested M&A litigation, hostile proxy and control contests, enforcement, derivative actions, oppression claims, cross-border shareholder disputes, and securities class actions. She teaches securities litigation at Queen’s University. She was appointed to the Ontario Securities Commission-Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee in 2023 and completed a secondment with the Ontario Securities Commission's Office of Mergers and Acquisitions in 2019.
