Partner in the Real Property and Planning Group in the firm’s Vancouver office. Practice is focused on commercial real estate and related corporate matters, with particular expertise in land acquisitions, land development, structuring, strata property, commercial leasing and real-estate related corporate reorganizations. Acts for several leading real estate investors and developers, as well as owners of major office towers, industrial parks and shopping centres. Extensive experience with the structuring, acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale of significant residential, industrial, retail, office and mixed-use projects. Scott is co-author of McCarthy Tétrault’s Annotated British Columbia Strata Property Act, first published in 2002 and updated annually. He has also co-authored chapters in the Continuing Legal Education Society’s Real Estate Practice Manual, Annual Review of Law and Practice and Commercial Leasing - Annotated Precedents publications, and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of the latter publication. He is a speaker at numerous industry conferences. He was appointed as a Director of the BC Land Title and Survey Authority in 2017 and re-appointed in 2020.
