Shelagh McGregor

Shelagh McGregor has been at Weir Bowen since 2009. She has worked with pioneers in medical malpractice litigation and fantastic lawyers in many other areas of law. She works for people who have been injured through no fault of their own. Most of her clients have been injured due to the negligence of a doctor or nurse, but she also works for people injured by drivers or careless property owners. Deciding to sue somebody is not easy, and most of her clients have never been involved in a lawsuit. As such, it is important that anyone considering a medical malpractice claim receives advice from a lawyer who practises in this area. She assists clients in making that decision and guiding them through litigation, if warranted and if they choose to do so. In addition, she teaches other lawyers and medical professionals about this complex type of litigation. She also volunteers for the boards of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and iHuman Youth Society. She is a founding organizing committee member of the Women’s Legal Forum with the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, an initiative enabling women in law to support each other while fundraising for a worthy charity.
