Simon Grant practises corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on financing transactions and financial regulation. He routinely acts for borrowers, credit providers, and sponsors on loan facilities, complex M&A transactions, and financings in the mining sector including streaming, royalty, and offtake transactions. Simon also advises clients on financial regulation, including fintech companies and foreign financial institutions doing business in Canada. He is co-head of Bennett Jones' cross-disciplinary Fintech & Blockchain Practice Group. Antofagasta plc, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Antofagasta Investment Company Limited, acquired Duluth Metals Limited by way of a plan of arrangement at a price of $0.45 per share, for total cash consideration of approximately $52.8 million. Immediately following the acquisition, Antofagasta funded the purchase of $30-million aggregate principal amount convertible debentures, being all of Duluth’s outstanding convertible debentures.
