Thomas (Tom) A. Roper, KC, is a founding partner at Roper Greyell where he focuses on strategic planning and counsel work. Tom has practised labour and employment law for nearly five decades, and advised large federal and provincial employers, governments, educational institutions, and unions in over 600 legal proceedings. A tireless advocate for the highest standards of employment and labour practices, Tom’s expertise is sought after by clients, organizations, educators and colleagues. In 1992, he was appointed to a three-person panel proposing revisions to the BC Labour Relations Code; in 2014, he received the Vancouver Bar Association's Peter S. Hyndman Mentorship Award; and was further honored in 2022 as a recipient of the Bora Laskin Award for his “outstanding contributions to Canadian labour law”. Tom is a member of the Board of Governors for the Business Council of BC and is invited regularly to speak on labour and employment law matters.
