Tim Ryan is a partner in the Calgary office of Gowling WLG. He practises in the areas of health law, professional regulation and professional liability. Tim's practice includes administrative law and the defence of medical, pharmacist and engineering malpractice cases. Tim received his LLB from the University of Calgary in 1996 and his LLM from the University of Cambridge in 2001. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 1997. While at Cambridge, Tim concentrated his studies in public and private international law, including studies at the Lauterpacht Research Centre for International Law. In conjunction with his studies at Cambridge, Tim received an award from the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and British Chevening program. He has been recognized for a number of years in both The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and The Best Lawyers in Canada. Tim received the Best Lawyers 2022 Medical Negligence "Lawyer of the Year" award in Calgary.
