Timothy M. Banks is a technology lawyer focusing on IT contracts, privacy, cybersecurity, and the CASL. In the area of technology contracting, his particular experience is in retail tech and property tech. He has handled negotiations with some of the largest providers of IaaS, implementation services agreements, and SaaS agreements for a wide variety of services. He repeatedly works on cross-border data breaches and has assisted clients in ensuring maximum recovery under cybersecurity insurance policies. His mission is to provide outstanding legal advice to clients that is understandable, tuned to risk tolerances, and operationally practical. His previous experience includes being a partner at a global law firm where he built a Chambers-ranked privacy and cybersecurity practice and the first Canadian in-house counsel for the largest global cloud computing service providers.
