Substantial experience acting on real estate components of corporate transactions (both domestic and cross-border), and on portfolio transactions. Select experience includes acting for Oxford Properties and CPP Investments in their $1.2 billion joint sale of Royal Bank Plaza to a Spanish investment firm controlled by Amancio Ortega; Newmont Mining Corporation in a real property reorganization in its $10 billion acquisition of Goldcorp Inc.; Rogers Communications in its $26 billion acquisition of Shaw Communications; ONEX Corporation in its $5 billion purchase of Westjet Airlines Inc. and their subsequent acquisition of Sunwing Vacations; OneREIT in its sale of 44 shopping centres across Canada, and public takeover by SmartREIT; and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation in respect of over $500 million worth of construction financing projects.
