Vanessa Reakes is a partner in our Vancouver office, with expertise in professional negligence claims, construction, builders liens, commercial litigation and insurance law. Vanessa is frequently retained to provide advice to a variety of professionals, including architects, engineers and other design professionals; realtors and property managers; insurance brokers; mortgage brokers; financial advisors; and private health practitioners. In addition to her professional negligence practice, she frequently advises contractors, subcontractors, developers and project managers involved in construction disputes, including builders lien claims, and advises on director and officer liability matters, shareholder disputes. Vanessa’s insurance practice includes providing advice to insurers relating to first party coverage matters. Since 2010, Vanessa has volunteered as an adjunct lecturer with the UBC Engineering Department.
