Vern Krishna is tax counsel at KPK Law LLP and Professor of Common Law at the University of Ottawa. He is a national expert in the area of tax and author of over 18 texts in domestic and international tax, and financial skills. His texts Fundamentals of Canadian Income Tax vol. 1: Personal Tax and 2: Corporate Tax (Thomson Reuters) are considered the leading texts in Canadian tax law. His most recent text, Financial Skills for Professionals (Irwin Law), is used by lawyers and businesspersons interested in financial concepts. His practice comprises tax litigation, dispute resolution, international tax, tax planning and wealth management. He acts as counsel in income tax matters, representing corporate and individual clients with the CRA. He has significant experience litigating tax disputes in all courts. One of Canada’s leading legal tax scholars, he has made remarkable contributions to the legal profession.
