William (Bill) focuses on restructuring and insolvency law, commercial lending and real estate. Bill has worked with many of Canada’s largest financial institutions and court officers in the insolvency and restructuring area. He is a leading practitioner in ABL and CMBS financing. Bill served as a Provincial Council member of the Canadian Bar Association for a number of years and remains a member of the insolvency law, business law and real estate subsections of the CBA’s BC branch. He is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada. Currently past chairman of the Turnaround Management Association, Bill has been actively involved with the association for more than two decades. His past roles with the organization have also included international vice president. He has been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the category of road and rail transportation and asset-based lending. He was named one of Canada’s leading lawyers in the area of asset-based lending and banking and finance law by The Best Lawyers in Canada. The Legal 500 Canada also recognized him for restructuring and insolvency. Bill was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1988 and Manitoba in 1980.
Lundin Mining Corporation completed the acquisition of an 80 per cent ownership stake in the Candelaria/Ojos del Salado copper mining operations and supporting infrastructure from Freeport-McMoRan Inc., for approximately US$1.8 billion.
