Bill MacGregor is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Waterloo Region office and leads the firm’s national Immigration Practice Group. His practice focuses exclusively on corporate immigration and the cross-border movement of foreign nationals and personnel. A Certified Specialist in Immigration Law (Law Society of Ontario), Bill has over 30 years of experience providing innovative and practical solutions on immigration matters to Canadian and international clients across a variety of industries and sectors. He assists employers with such things as international transfers and hires, obtaining work permits, Labour Market Impact Assessments and documentation for accompanying family members of foreign national transferees or recruits. He also provides strategic advice on matters including developing immigration policies and work permit best practices, compliance requirements, immigration considerations for companies expanding into Canada, the implications of mergers or corporate ownership changes on foreign national personnel and obtaining permanent resident status and citizenship.
