William (Bill) Wu maintains a dynamic and wide-ranging competition law and foreign investment practice, including merger reviews, abuse of dominance, cartel and follow-on class action defence, marketing and advertising, and foreign investment reviews. On merger matters, he acts on high-profile domestic and international transactions, including West Fraser’s acquisition of Norbord, Sunwing’s acquisition by WestJet, Paper Excellence’s acquisition of Domtar, Domtar’s acquisition of Resolute, ASSA ABLOY’s acquisition of Spectrum Brands, and Bunge’s merger with Viterra. He is co-counsel on major competition class actions, including Roll-on/Roll-off Car Carriers (for “K” Line) and Capacitors (for Nichicon). He also advises on abuse of dominance investigations. He testified before a parliamentary committee on competition law amendments and teaches competition law at Queen’s University Faculty of Law. He currently serves as chairman of the competition litigation committee of the Canadian Bar Association competition law section. He co-authors the Canada Chapter in Get the Deal Through – Cartel Regulation. He is also an editor and contributor to International Investigations and Merger Reviews: A Handbook for Antitrust Counsel. He is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
