McMillan LLP has announced the appointment of Bruce Chapple as the new CEO and managing partner.
Chapple, a seasoned business lawyer with nearly three decades at McMillan, officially took on his new role on July 1.
“Bruce is a strong and respected leader, both in our firm and among the business community,” said Paul Davis, board chair of McMillan LLP. “He enjoys the confidence of the partners to lead McMillan during this time of growth.”
Chapple's expertise lies in mergers, acquisitions, and private equity. His extensive management experience within the firm has equipped him with deep knowledge of McMillan's operations and strategic direction. Chapple also serves on the board of Alpine Canada and is the former chair of the Royal St. George’s College board.
“I am really excited for the coming years. Our firm is almost 125 years old, and it’s truly an honour to step into the CEO role during this next phase of national growth and success,” Chapple remarked. “I also want to extend a deep thank you to our outgoing CEO, Tim Murphy, whose vision is reflected in our strategic plan – a plan we will continue to execute in the coming years.”
Tim Murphy expressed his confidence in Chapple’s leadership, saying, “I’m thrilled to pass the baton to Bruce. The firm is in highly capable hands.”
Chapple's practice includes advising on acquisitions and divestitures in the Canadian market and handling Canadian issues in international transactions. His clientele spans public and private corporations, subsidiaries of international corporations, private equity funds, and investment vehicles, including real estate transactions.
Chapple’s extensive management roles at McMillan have included terms as a member and chair of its allocation committee, a member of its professional services committee, chief financial partner, and chief firm (integration) partner.
As McMillan LLP approaches its 125th anniversary, the firm anticipates further development under Chapple’s leadership.
